Repeats

*The four repeats:

Two brews were increases from one-gallon to five-gallon batches with some minor ingredient tweaks for the Belgian Wit and the Belgian Trippel. Both were later dumped because they tasted terrible.

The Mar 2015 Belgian Blonde was nearly identical to the Dec 2014 version.

The Apr 2015 Belgian Wit was a two-gallon batch that was identical to the Apr 2015 wit, except for the yeast.

Recipe Info

All brews were all-grain recipes, except for the Irish Red Ale kit.

The first beer, the Imperial Stout, was the only brew where the recipe was created from scratch. Jerry P helped us create that recipe, using the BeerSmith mobile app while we ate pho for lunch at Pho Vietnam.

The Mar 2015 Belgian Blonde recipe was based upon the Dec 2014 version, but Deb modified it slightly within the BeerSmith app. The Mar 2015 and Dec 2014 blonde recipes were different than the blonde brewed back in May 2014.

Botched

18 total gallons dumped down the drain. The two two-gallon batches brewed on Mar 30, 2015 were dumped on the same day. Therefore technically, it was not beer, but it was future beer, and the money was still lost. It counts.

Thus far, we've lost approximately 170 to 180 12-oz bottles of beer. At about $1.00 to $1.50 per bottle for the cost of ingredients, that's around $200 to $250 tossed in the trash.
